Gasonic Group Ltd
Kae Shummoogum P.Eng has an Engineering Degree from City University in London, England. He founded Gasonic Instruments in 1985 to service a growing need for hazardous gas detection and indoor air quality monitoring in commercial buildings mainly underground parking garages. In 1995, he founded EnviroRentals to rent environmental testing instruments for both indoor and outdoor environmental consultants. In 2016 he founded EnviroLight Retrofit and Recycling (a social enterprise of the Gasonic Group) to introduce a Zero Waste/Circular
Economy Recycling system for mercury filled Fluorescent Light bulbs.

We at Gasonic was about to celebrate our 35th anniversary in 2020 when the pandemic change everything for all of us in the world. When I saw the images of how the air over the most polluted cities started to clear, I began to build a new vision for the company.

To pursue a strategy of ‘Flattening the curve on Inmosphere pollution’. For several months after the lockdown I worked as an undercover field technician to develop the strategy for clean air in buildings especially parkades. I will present the result of my findings during my talk at the conference.

I realised that the future of clean air for the next generation is to a large extend the electrification of the transportation system. Although this will affect my business negatively, I am committed to promote low and zero emissions vehicles whenever possible. I have driven low emissions vehicle since 2003 and for the last 6 years zero emission electric vehicles.
