A hackathon is about solving a problem, testing an idea or scenario, or creating a prototype. Typically timed, a hackathon forces participants to think on their feet and develop solutions collaboratively. Like the hackathon scenario, asset management practitioners in a municipality are often forced to make quick decisions with incomplete information, and build consensus with colleagues. This session will allow participants to address common asset management challenges with team members from other organizations, by approaching them from different stakeholder perspectives (operations, Council, citizens, etc.). This interactive workshop focuses on bringing asset management plans to action, and allows participants to tackle challenges such as: determining affordable levels of service, integrating asset management plans into investment planning, or creating mechanisms for prioritizing across service areas.
