| The Alberta Turkey Producers is the voice of the turkey production industry in Alberta. The Alberta Turkey Producers represents 47 licensed quota holders within the province of Alberta who produce over 18 million kilograms of turkey on an annual basis. The organization operates as a marketing board under the governance of the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act. The board was formed by producer vote on January 6th, 1967 and is responsible for licensing Alberta’s 47 turkey producers and multiple processors operating under a supply management system. The organization is governed by a board of five directors who are elected by licensed turkey producers. Operating as the voice for the turkey production industry in Alberta, ATP’s leadership and service contribute to creating a stable environment for the protection and growth of the Alberta Turkey industry. |
