The Rev. Dr. Jason Byassee, Butler Chair, Vancouver School of Theology 

The Rev. Dr. Jason Byassee teaches preaching at Vancouver School of Theology (VST). He holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Duke University and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. In addition to his position at VST, he is a Senior Fellow of the Centre for Missional Leadership at St. Andrew’s Hall, University of British Columbia.

 

As a contributing editor to The Christian Century magazine, Dr. Byassee has written numerous articles and reviewed films such as The Martian, American Sniper, and The Hobbit. He has also written for other publications, including Books & Culture, Covenant Companion, Sojourners, and Christianity Today. His contributions to conversations outside of the Christian community include being consulted by The New Yorker, 60 Minutes, The Chicago Tribune, HBO, Newsweek, NPR, Washington Post and others.
