Presentation Overview:
Water damage can be costly both when it is subject of insurance and when it is not. Richard John of Bridgeland Law will offer some suggestions on how property managers and Boards of Directors can better navigate water claims and damages caused by the incursion of water. Richard will review of the requirements in the Condominium Property Act, RSA 2000, c C-22 and the Condominium Property Regulations. Richard will also be working through a checklist which he has developed. This checklist may be of assistance to property managers and Boards of Directors in dealing with perils involving water and may be of assistance in dealing with insurance agents, adjusters, contractors and owners regarding water perils. Moreover the checklist may be assistance in ascertaining who is ultimately responsible for the payment of damages, expenses, and deductibles as a result of the incursion of water.
