Bobby Randhawa, Lawyer

Bobby is an associate at Carbert Waite and has been with the firm since he began his legal career. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he obtained a degree in electrical engineering and worked for several years in the engineering field. His comprehensive technical background is an asset to clients with complex legal issues.
Starting with developing a deep understanding of his clients and their legal issues, Bobby establishes a foundation of trust and open communication early on and ensures clients are well informed throughout the course of a matter. He proactively seeks out practical and efficient paths to resolution that maximise his clients’ interests. Where it is necessary for a matter to proceed to court, he has experience in conducting applications, trials, and appeals before all three levels of court in Alberta.

Robert has appeared as legal counsel before municipal councils, boards, and tribunals
including the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board and the Municipal Government Board and all levels of Court in Alberta.
Robert teaches at the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education and the Canadian
Condominium Institute. Robert also writes a bi-monthly column in the Edmonton Journal and
Calgary Herald on condominium-related matters. Robert is a sessional lecturer at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law, teaching Municipal & Planning Law.
Robert is a former city of Edmonton Councillor (1995-2001) and has been a member of

From 2010-2016 John was the managing partner of Scott Venturo Rudakoff LLP. John practices primarily condominium law and general civil litigation.
John regularly acts for condominium corporations and property management companies on condominium by-law interpretation and enforcement, condominium fee arrears collection, eviction of pets, tenants and unit owners, by-law amendment and construction deficiency litigation. He also chairs numerous annual and extraordinary general meetings for condominium corporations. John is a member of CCI South Alberta and for over a decade was a Director and Officer. He also sat on the Provincial committee making recommendations on amendments to the Condominium Property Act. John is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and is the founder and past chair of the Managing Partners subsection.
Past practice experience includes complex large loss insurance matters, employment law issues and 7 years as General Counsel for the Tsuu T’ina Indian Band. John has conducted trials at the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal and has extensive experience with a variety of forms of alternate dispute resolution, including arbitration, mediation, judicial dispute resolution and mini-trials.
