Janice Kelner

Janice Kelner is a management consultant with a background in corporate law, conflict management, and board governance.  She has worked as mediator and facilitator in the oil and gas industry for over 20 years, and  has been an educator, skills coach, and assessor in conflict management programs at the University of Calgary and SAIT.   Janice has also worked in the justice system as a court mediator in the Provincial Court of Alberta Civil Division and as a hearing officer for Service Alberta in the Residential Tenancies Dispute Resolution Service. 
 
In addition to her work in the field of conflict management, Janice is an educator and consultant in governance of not-for-profit organizations and private companies.  She served as a volunteer instructor in the Board Development Program of Alberta Culture, and furthered her governance studies with the Canadian Board Diversity Council.  She went on to study governance of family businesses with the Family Firm Institute, while working as Director of the PriceWaterhouse Coopers Centre for Entrepreneurs and Family Business in Calgary.  
 
Janice has been a condo owner for over 35 years, serving on two condo boards.  She has worked with a number of not-for-profit boards throughout Alberta, including condo boards, to help them improve their governance practices.
