After graduating from university, Anissia started her career in international development. In 2008, she began working at the Canadian Institute of Planners. There, she managed several capacity building initiatives and worked with volunteers across Canada on planning issues including climate change, healthy communities, and Indigenous community planning. In 2017, CIP received an FCM partnership grant, which launched CIP’s asset management (AM) learning series. Shortly after, Anissia would join the FCM Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP). With the help of AM professionals, Anissia is facilitating workshops across Canada in order raise awareness and build municipalities’ capacity to implement good AM practices.
