Calvin and Hobbes were my idols when I was a kid. Calvin always wanted to do things differently, outside the box. I would also have rather spent 6 hours designing a robot to clean my room than the 20 minutes it would take me to do it myself. In high school and college I learned that was called "Innovation".
After 10 years based in Silicon Valley with a handful of amazing groups of people, in 2008 I set out to start a venture of my own, Vineyard Networks. At Vineyard I l discovered that innovative ideas were important, but an innovative, creative and positive team was WAY MORE VALUABLE! The company was sold to Procera Networks out of Sweden for $32 million dollars.
Since then Jason founded and became CEO of Change Gamers, he tries to operate on a few key principals:
1.) Do something you love and are passionate about, so most of the time it doesn't feel like work.
2.) An amazing group of people is far more powerful than an amazing idea.
3.) Go out of your way to help people be successful, and it comes back in spades when you need the help.
4.) Talk about what you're doing, to everyone! It's amazing how many crazy connections happen.
5.) Get things to market as soon as you can for true customer feedback.
