WORKSHOP VI: Asset Management: Strategic strategies for deliberately building community / project resiliency, incorporating natural assets and the changing climate – Case Study
Date & Time
Wednesday, May 8, 2019, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Description
Asset management is intended to be an integrated and holistic approach to the management of our municipal assets and yet is all to often focused or 'blinkered' to one aspect or a limited group of assets. This session will provide an overview of tools and approach applied in a pilot project completed in partnership with the Government of Yukon Energy Branch and the Town of Watson Lake to develop an integrated asset management plan that demonstrates tools and approaches that can be used by any community. The project strategically incorporates and integrates natural assets, the changing climate, and energy efficiency objectives into asset management planning to deliberately build community sustainability and resiliency. The session will provide participants the opportunity to learn and apply the tools developed through the Yukon Gov’t pilot in the World Café style participant engagement.
