My name is Jeroen Velthuis; owner and operator of Velthuis Farm Ltd. My wife and I, along with our 7 young children, have a chicken broiler farm located about 30 minutes North of Edmonton. We raise between 80,000 to 85,000 broilers each cycle between three barns. Before raising broilers, I was dairy farming with my parents. In 2008 we sold the dairy and got into broiler chickens – the farm came with two older barns that were built in the late 90’s and in 2020, we added a third barn to the farm.
