Dr. Valerie Carney is one of Canada’s poultry research and technology transfer leaders. After initially working stateside with Aviagen, she returned to her home province of Alberta in 2005 to work with the Alberta government to mobilize research into application. Val has been an adjunct professor with the Faculty of Agricultural Life and Environmental Sciences (ALES) at the University of Alberta from 2012 to 2020, at which time she accepted a faculty position with ALES. Dr. Carney is the Poultry Innovation Partnership (PIP) Lead where she collaborates with all sectors of the poultry industry and poultry researchers to advance the Canadian poultry enterprise through excellence in research, technology transfer and training tomorrow’s poultry professionals.
