Samson is a second-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Animal Science and Aquaculture, Dalhousie University, Canada. Prior to joining Dalhousie University, he previously completed a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security at Newcastle University, as well as a short research spell at the Monogastric research Centre (SRUC), based at the Roslin Campus of Edinburgh University, all in the United Kingdom.
At Dalhousie University, the overall goal of his Ph.D. project is geared towards developing sustainable alternatives to antibiotics growth promoters for the poultry industry. More specifically, he seeks to evaluate several bioactive substances and the delivery routes that best maximize their efficacy on broiler chicken performance and welfare. Asides from academics, he can be found engaging in various leadership and volunteering engagement activities within and beyond the Dalhousie University Campus. He hopes to be an academic member of a leading university in the near future, where He hopes to continue to lead curious minds like his to ask the right scientific questions, as He opines that questions and not answers create knowledge.
