Nella is a graduate of the Animal Health program from the University of Alberta with a Double Major in Companion and Performance Animals & Food Animals. Upon graduation, she worked in the companion animal industry and for Animal Care and Control. She soon returned to her interest in food animals after working as a research technician with the Monogastric Feed Research Group at Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. She is now pursuing a Master of Science with her research focusing on laying hen nutrition and skeletal health. Upon graduating Nella hopes to pursue a career that merges her interests in research and development and social sustainability. Nella also has a strong interest in the poultry industry internationally, particularly Asia and Latin America, and hopes her work will eventually take her abroad.
