Dr. Kiarie is an Associate Professor and holder of The McIntosh Family Professorship in Poultry Nutrition at the University of Guelph. Elijah received PhD and Post-Doctoral training in monogastric nutrition from the University of Manitoba. His research program has a strong applied research focus; relevance to the poultry industry remains an important consideration in his approach to research. The goal is to unravel factors and processes that regulate intestinal function and health by integrating maternal, in-ovo and early post-hatch nutrition strategies to support continuous gut and skeletal development at embryonic through to early post-hatch period for enhanced productivity and reduction in antibiotic use. He teaches Poultry Nutrition and Animal Disorders courses at the undergraduate level, and Growth and Metabolism at the graduate level.
