Description

Canadians spend more than 90% of our time indoors and the pandemic lock-down has forced us to spend even more time indoors. We should be more concerned about IAQ (indoor air quality) that the air we see outside our windows.

During the pandemic we were contacted by Health Canada to conduct some air quality research in buildings with attached parking garages. Although the funding has been delayed due to the pandemic, we conducted some preliminary research in buildings with attached parking garages.

During our research we discovered that the air quality in close parking garages can be over 100 times higher than outside air quality. The good news is that we found some very innovative techniques and products that can significantly reduce the pollutants level in the parkades. We were excited to learn about a wall coating made Switzerland that can destroy some of the worse pollutants. We build several Test Boxes to prove the effectiveness of the product thus the title ‘Think Inside The Box’

This presentation will outline 7 Air Quality Strategies to achieve 3 main objectives:

  1. Rebalance Air Quality with Energy costs.
  2. Eliminate potentially liable incidents.
  3. Minimize maintenance costs without compromising performance.
